About the clinician

Rachel Felch, MA, LPCC, RPT, SEP

  

Rachel Felch is the founder and primary counselor at Heartstrings Counseling, Her experience includes over 20 years of working with children, adults and families in crisis. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the Twin Cities. Her current practice includes diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, and interventions with a focus on helping her clients navigate through a variety of concerns and issues. These include trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and military families. She is passionate and gifted in working with children and their families. 


Ms. Felch started her career working with children who were residing in an emergency shelter due to their families being involved with Child Protective Services. She then joined the staff at a rural community mental health center where she established a play therapy room for children. She also worked with a number of adults in crisis, including dissociative identity disorder and military families. Ms. Felch developed her own program materials and led groups for children who had been experienced sexual abuse. She then returned to the Twin Cities where she worked as an independent contractor therapist for eight years before establishing Heartstrings Counseling. 


Ms. Felch holds a Master of Arts degree from Bethel University in Counseling Psychology as well as a post graduate certificate in child and adolescent mental health. She completed advanced classes in marriage and family at the University of St Thomas, St. Paul. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Minnesota, a Registered Play Therapist, and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. Ms. Felch is also a Board Approved Supervisor for LPC’s and LPCC’s seeking licensure. She has coordinated and assisted as part of a teaching team at multiple SE related training classes both nationally and internationally.
